Beginner Italian Classes

Whether you are planning a trip to Italy, learning the language for work, or simply embracing the beautiful Italian language and culture, our beginner classes will provide the framework that is necessary to communicate effectively in real-life situations.

Beginner 1 - This is for those new or almost new to the language. No placement test is required.

Beginner 2 & 3 build on the skills built in Beginner 1. You need to have completed the previous class or pass a placement test to register in Beginner 2 or Beginner 3.

Beginner-Intermediate

Students entering the Beginner-Intermediate level of Italian will need to have completed Beginner 3 to enroll or pass a placement test. Students will continue to delve deeper into the Italian language, mastering language around daily activities, interpersonal communication, and in-depth grammar.

Intermediate Classes

Students entering the Intermediate level of Italian should have finished our Beginner-Intermediate 3 or have completed a placement test. Students in our Intermediate level will continue to deepen their conversational Italian and learn more complicated grammar concepts.

Intermediate-Advanced Classes

Students entering the Intermediate Advanced classes must have completed the previous level or have passed a placement test. Students will focus on refining their Italian language skills not only by studying the nuances of the language, but also by understanding the cultural context.

Advanced Classes

At the Advanced Level, students collaborate as a class and in small groups to write short compositions on a variety of topics, which they will share and discuss among themselves. The student will practice, perfect, and strengthen their Italian knowledge through class based assignments and activities. The classroom atmosphere is one of openness, where students work together and make mistakes together, all with the common goal of gaining fluency in Italian.
